Granite is often known as the most hard-wearing natural stones, with long-lasting strength, and scratch resistance. It is a material that is suitable for even the busiest of homes, and is guaranteed to last with minimal maintenance.
It is usually our first choice when recommending materials for fireplace hearths, as it has a safe, and heat-tolerant surface, which is recognised in standard fire safety regulations; however it is always important to consult with your fitter on the proper regulations required for your area.
Granite Styles Available:
One of the most notable differences between the granites that we offer is their finish. Our fire hearths are available in polished, honed, and leathered finish. Polished have a high-shine finish, easily reflecting light, Honed is a more matte, smooth finish, but still a flat surface, and Leathered has a textured, natural finish. There is no difference in the costing between the finishes, so it is purely down to personal design preference as to which one you opt for.
Our most popular shaped hearths are T-Shapes, but there is one stark difference between some of the orders that we receive. We offer either 1 or multiple pieces in the T-Shape. The 1 piece allows there to be no join line, but a 2 piece can be easier to fit into tight fireplaces, so bear that in mind when considering which option you would like to order.

What is a Granite slab?
We receive our granite from reputable and reliable suppliers, in large format slabs, which we then cut down to create our bespoke hearths. As granite is a natural stone, we cannot guarantee that every slab is going to look the same, and orders made at different times may not come out of the same slab.
Made-to-Measure Fabrication Options
The most important aspects to consider when making an order for one of our bespoke granite fire hearths, are the shape, colour, and edge detail that you require.
We have a number of varying shape options available, which you can see outlined below. All of these shapes are possible, and can be personalised to the measurements that you require.
We have two colours of granite available for our fire hearths: black and steel grey. The main difference between the two is that the steel grey is a lighter shade, and has a large grain. If you are unsure on which one will suit your home best, we can send samples direct to your door.
There are 3 edge details to choose from when ordering a granite hearth. We include a bevelled edge as standard, finishing off the edges to prevent any sharpness. This is included in the price of the hearth itself. There are however, 2 other options available at a cost, as seen below. The finish of the edges should not make a difference to the suitability of your hearth in correspondence to regulations, and is simply down to whichever you think would fit best in your home.
